What the Deal was with Delayed Writing and “Medical Issues” (Part I)

May 28th, 2018
I wouldn’t put the date on a general post like this, normally, but my next comment will make sense if there is a date stamp on it. I planned on putting a disclaimer, which I will, that took up enough space to avoid someone reading something they did not care to read, but the current theme I am using places the whole post and not just a summary. That being said, I plan on going into some detail that not only is very personal but also possibly graphic in nature. If you feel you do not want to read this for it may offend you or may reveal too much about me, please move on. I intend to write about more travel exploits soon to catch up from the previous as well as new ones. Thanks for understanding. North to Alaska, Day 3 (NO LA, Day II, Part II)

Thursday, March 22, 2018 (Still):

After the cemetery tour, I checked the time and saw I had another three plus hours left on my parking meter and decided to make the best of it. Across the street from where I was, as the place I actually parked, was the Basin St. Station and bus tour stop/visitor center. I figured I did the main thing I was in New Orleans for, I should be able to do anything else at this point. Continue reading “North to Alaska, Day 3 (NO LA, Day II, Part II)”

Slight Catch up

I have acquired my medical bills, but still, do not know what I had. I have test results and nothing seems out of the norm. I will write the details of the experience at a later date. That being said, I’m in the middle of the rest of the NO LA trip and got distracted by editing all my previous posts for grammar and spelling errors. It is interesting to note, I have run these posts through two different systems and there were conflicts as one saw no issues and the other did. They also differed by one trying to correct issues I corrected with the other system and the new system says it is an issue. That being the case, as long as I am not reading and just posting, don’t expect perfection. I will say the post prior to this one had the least issues It was also the only one that I was able to do without a dog interrupting me mid-process.

I hope to have another post tomorrow and start catching up on the travel stories and then move on from there. Nash has been adopted so I feel like I can tell his stories now. I have a few more Belle stories (one is already written, just not posted). Lily has a few she wants everyone to know.

I have plans to travel again and actually make this trip, but it will be in the future. I have an idea of what I need to do next and might put it here, or not. We will see.

Stay tuned. Lates. . .

North to Alaska, Day 3 (NO LA, Day II – Part I)

Thursday, March 22, 2018:

Morning started as it had before, light from the courtyard and Lily poking me with her nose. I told her to go back to sleep and she did. Eventually, I woke and took her for a walk. Along the way, I saw several trucks that had the phrase “Hollywood Trucks” on them. At first, there was one, as we passed in one direction, but as we circled back, there were four around the block. Even now, I have no idea what they were setting up for, but it looked like they were hosting a film crew. Lily was being difficult again and didn’t want to “go” so we headed to the dog park. North to Alaska, Day 2 (NO LA, Day I)

Wednesday, March 21, 2018:

I awoke to light in my room (in New Orleans – NOLA), as the courtyard was lit all the time, and Lily’s snout on the bed. She usually does that when she wants something, be it food, out, or attention. I was still suffering from a cold I had the week before, which also contributed to me not doing anything productive, and was in need of tissues. The room did not have any. All I could get my hands on were one-ply toilet paper. Deciding that was a bust, I took a shower. The door to the bathroom was folding and didn’t have a handle. I tried pushing it closed, but Lily wanted to be in there with me. Only kinda, so I showered with the door partially closed. Continue reading “North to Alaska, Day 2 (NO LA, Day I)”

North to Alaska, Day 1 (Travel Begins)

Tuesday, March 20, 2018:

I woke lazily as I still had not adjusted to Daylight Savings Time. When I finally woke, I packed and debated what to bring due to the variance in temperatures along the trip. Narrowing things down, I was able to get all my gear together and stick everything in the car, so it would fit, Lily would fit, and have extra room. A Weak at Home

So, after getting the dogs situated and trying to get back into my pattern the way I intended, I actually got back into my pattern the way Nash and Lily wanted it. The two of them were up to their antics and I was drained of most of my energy over the week. I was able to write a bit over for two days. Continue reading “A Weak at Home”

Key West, Day 5

Time to leave back to Orlando. Lily and I were getting ready to go. I had plans for a hot breakfast that morning at the Inn where I stayed. The stated hours were 7 to 10. I was out the door at 7:00 and nothing was set yet. I walked Lily a bit and she was still being difficult. Checked back and still nothing. Decided to get my car and head back. On the way, we hit up the Old Town Bakery, which happened to open at 6. There was a very small crowd and we were able to get in easily. I thought this was the place the Restaurant Store was, as that place was not the location I had hoped it would be allowing me to get bread on before I headed back. Alas, this was not the place that supplied everyone in Key West with bread, and if it were, they weren’t selling it readily. Continue reading “Key West, Day 5”

Key West, Day 4 (Part II)

Prior to going to Mallory Square, I wanted to stop by a shop I went to the last time I was in Key West. I thought they were the bakery that made the bread that they used at Sarabeth’s and several other locations in Key West. It turns out, if they were when I was there last, they are no longer housing that portion. They still have a café and are also a craft beer vendor and chef’s store. They sell items that aren’t found in most home good stores, catering to a more specific taste. Had I the desire to buy more of that stuff, I know local places that sell, and I wouldn’t have to carry the items with me for the rest of the night. I love their products, but they sold nothing unique enough for me to get, except… Continue reading “Key West, Day 4 (Part II)”

Brief Update from NO LA. . .

Plan on getting Key West Day 4 (Part II) up either tonight to tomorrow. Then will start the Alaska Saga. Lily is with me and there will be pictures. It has been mentioned the ones posted so far are too small. I will need more space to put larger images up and possible video. Get me more readers and it will be worth it. Spread the word if you like what you are reading. If you don’t, sorry, the fiction will follow the trip stories.

If you didn’t get it by the title, I’m writing this from NO LA. I have already been in four states in the last day. Gonna be here until Friday, 03/23/2018. Not sure where our next stop will be, but I intend on getting in a ghost tour while I’m here.
